Like lots of Canadians, we have travelled South to escape the winters of Eastern Canada to various all-inclusive destinations in Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico etc. Both my wife and I have always enjoyed these vacations, and as we are getting closer to retirement we were looking at opportunities to spend more time in a warm climate. We were specifically looking for purchase/rental properties in the Dominican Republic and Punta Cana for the familiarity, climate, services and proximity to Eastern Canada. We have purchased numerous homes in different provinces throughout Canada to live in but had no experience in purchasing property outside Canada. We were able to connect with Heidi and Christian through a mutual friend and were immediately impressed with their local knowledge and expertise in the real estate and rental field. In the winter of 2024 we purchased a Condominium in Punta Cana. There is always some reservation in making such a large purchase in a foreign country but with help from both Heidi and Christian the process was extremely easy. Their professional approach to the negotiations, closing, lawyer interaction and financial transfers was extremely helpful as 100% was completed while we were still in Canada. We have been able to spend time at our new Condo and have also been able to rent it out with the assistance of both Heidi and Christian. Upon arrival the first time we were beyond appreciative of the support we received and the advice on how to navigate in Punta Cana from Heidi and Christian. This was our first time actually staying off resort and we found it to be a much more relaxing experience and more to our liking. My only regret is that we are not quite ready to retire yet so we will be unable to spend as much time as we would like to but we have, with the help of Heidi and Christian, been able to rent our Condo.
